Want an experience that truly connects you to the food on the table?  You've probably heard of Farm to Table dinners, but we are taking it one step further with our "Farmer at the Table" dinner.  Our goal is to provide you with an opportunity to not only eat fresh, local food but to create a relationship with the farmers, roaster and chef who grew, roasted and prepared the food on the table. 


Our first Dinner on the Dairy last June created a demand for more dinners like it, so we have been working on a series of dinners for this summer and fall.  Our first dinner will be June 22, and we will release future dates as we finalize details.  



June 22 


Alisa Strunk and her team from Willows Bend Farm will be crafting a 4 course menu that features produce from her own farm in addition to Browntown Farm produce, meats from Hudson Heritage Farm, cheese from Goats R Us and fruit from Riverstreet Farmers Market.  The menu will include mini leek and mushroom tarts, sprouted sunflower and microgreens salad, rosemary and sage pork tenderloin with fried capers and blueberry sauce, sauteed rainbow chard and beet greens with smoked hog jowl and seasonal fruit cobbler with homemade Richlands ice cream.  


Your Dinner on the Dairy experience starts with appetizers and a tasty beverage from Hunting Creek Vineyards, local beer or Lamplighter Coffee before heading out on a tour of the dairy farm.  We will return to the stable to enjoy a family style meal and fellowship with your new friends, neighbors and farmers.  When the meal is over, be sure to take a few minutes to breathe in the fresh county air, hear the sound of cows in the field and stare into a starry sky before heading home.  This is part of the joy of life on the farm and we are so glad we can share it with you.
